Morocco is a predominantly Muslim country. Since Muslims are prohibited from drinking alcohol by their holy book, Quran, many tourists are worried about enjoying alcohol while visiting this dazzling country. However, Morocco is a moderate Islamic country, and thus alcohol is indeed available in the country but low profile.
You would definitely not find any alcohol in city Medinas. However, there are ordinary bars splashed across the city which offers to satiate your alcohol cravings. These bars are all-male preserves, and thus females are advised to stay away from it. Not only would they feel uncomfortable but they might also be targeted for unnecessary attention and harassment. However, women too can go out and enjoy alcohol in upmarket bars like Marrakesh or Casablanca. Most decent and upscale tourist hotels also boast of a tasteful ambiance bar for females to sit and enjoy their alcohol.

Wines and alcohol served in Morocco
Beers
Predominantly, there are three kinds of beers served in the country. The first is the local beer which is usually the Stork or the Flag. The labels that you need to choose between the ones brewed in Fez and Casablanca. The choice depends on your taste palate though many hold Fez brewed to be better brewed than the other. Regarding foreign brand, Heineken is the cool label which is made under license in Morocco itself.
Wines
Moroccan wines are quite tasteful and palatable though they are slightly heavy to drink all by themselves. They go best with a meal. Most popular and tasty is the pinkish red Clairet de Meknès which has intentionally been made light in the French claret style. Another drink to try is Beauvallon which is mostly reserved for export and thus boasts of a high quality. Other drinks that you can try are the strong red Cabernet, Guerrouane, Siraoua and the Ksar. All these fall into the red bracket. The dry white Spécial Coquillages and the Rosé Gris de Boulaoune are other must-try drinks.
